Kangaroo Island Fishing Adventures We own and operate the biggest charter vessel in the state of South Australia with the longest continuously running operation on Kangaroo Island and over 3500 days of fishing experience by our skipper Gavin Solly. Good catches came from 500m – 2km from shore at Henley, Grange, North Haven, and Hallett Cove. Scab channel and the river mouth had mullet and small mulloway. Around at Ballast Head there are kingfish, whiting & flathead, while Emu Bay has flathead, whiting, squid, garfish & nice ruffas. Good catches were also had from Tennyson Beach and West Beach at dawn. As I have just said, catches of good sized blue crabs are still hard to come by with most boat crews working overtime to find a worthwhile feed. In the meantime, mullet & small salmon are off Snapper Rocks along with nice flathead in the late afternoons as anglers try to find some shelter & have a decent fish. These beaut little fish are also off the beach at Germein Point (just south of the Franklin Harbour entrance at Cowell).
